Employment Opportunities

The Bookstore offers a number of employment opportunities for students interested in working on campus in a friendly environment. Students can gain important real-world skills in a number of areas, including customer service, sales, ordering and receiving, and merchandising.

The Bookstore regularly has openings for the following part-time positions:

Cashiers

The Bookstore hires students to work as part-time cashiers. Cashiers must be able to handle high volumes of cash, checks and credit cards, ring up customer purchases and assist customers on the sales floor. Other duties include keeping the register areas clean, straightening the sales floor, and assisting in other areas of the store when needed.

Receiving Clerks

The Bookstore hires students to work as receiving clerks. These employees receive incoming merchandise and verify order accuracy and condition, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action when necessary. When receiving shipments, all documents need to be processed and all information needs to be accurately entered into the store's inventory control system.

Computer Sales Associates

The Bookstore hires students to work as computer sales associates. Computer sales associates assist customers in making important computer purchasing decisions. Experience with Apple OS X or Microsoft Windows is a plus. Additional responsibilities include ordering, receiving and delivering merchandise.
